Turtle Blues is an acrylic on woodpanel painting, part of the Play Time series. In this series I am exploring the experience of playfulness, as an artist playing with my materials or of my subjects playing with the elements. This painting (with a wink to Janis Joplin's Turtle Blues) suggests a turtle playing alone or with others: tumbling, stretching, posing, teasing, floating whilst singing the Blues.
